I’ve been on a big self improvement kick lately. One way I’ve been going about it, has been to think of things that I’ve always wanted to change
about myself, and either work to accept them or find a solution to them. Something has frustrated me for years is the fact that I have dry skin during the summer months. I moisturized every day but it didn’t seem to do any good. I started looking online for ways to get rid of dry skin. One thing that stood out to me was the idea that skin needs to be exfoliated. Sometimes all the layers of dead skin don’t come off during the day or in the shower. Exfoliants like scrubs and brushes can be used to remove more layers of dead skin to that the moisturizer can better penetrate the skin. I decided to give it a try : )
I use two kinds of scrubs….
St. Ives Apricot Scrub & Sugar
I LOVE the St. Ives face scrub. I have seen a huge improvement in my skin. Believe me, I have tried A LOT of acne products. But this is the only thing that cleans my skin thoroughly enough.
As for the sugar, I was overjoyed when I found out that I didn’t have to pay a lot of money for scrubs at the store. Simple sugar works just as well for me. Plus I can get a big
bag of it cheap . I use it in the shower. After I wash, I just mix the scrub with a cheaper lotion and exfoliate all over Then I let it set for about 3 minutes and rinse off. Then when I’m dry I can just rub on any good lotion that I have. I usually apply the lotion before I open the bathroom door so it can absorb into my skin while my pores are still open. This routine has been working great for my skin. I might invest in some specially make scrubs that have added vitamins, but for the most part I have no complaints. My dry skin is baby smooth this summer 😀
